Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids

Week 21 | May 15 - May 21

We have multiple lessons for a variety of ages in our digital subscription to help you find what works best for your family. Our goal is to help families come closer to Christ and we’ve worked really hard on providing more options to help families implement Come Follow Me in their home.

  1. Teach your family about the parable of the two sons in Matthew 21:28-32. You could have your family act out the parable to help engage the kids. Then color the coloring page and relate it to the story.
  2. Learn about Zacchaeus seeking the Lord in Luke 19:1-10. Then make binoculars and go on a hunt. When you find a picture read the sentence on the bottom. Talk about how each card is a way that we can seek the Lord.
  3. Show your family a picture of the temple. Talk about how temples are special and sacred. Read about when Jesus cleansed the temple in Matthew 21:12-14. Let the kids look at the picture of Jesus cleansing the temple and let them tell you what they see. Is Jesus happy or sad? Were the people doing good things or bad things in the temple? etc.

“God Meant It unto Good”

Joseph’s forgiveness of his brothers did not come after they had paid restitution or offered an apology. He forgave them the moment he realized they had changed from their jealous ways when they offered themselves in place of Benjamin for punishment. How overwhelming it must have been for Joseph to see such love amongst his brothers. His forgiveness came with no strings attached: “be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves” (Genesis 45:5).

“The Lord Was with Joseph”

In every moment of Joseph’s story, God was with him. From his brothers’ betrayal and serving Potiphar, to a friend of Pharaoh and the savior of his family, at no time was Joseph forgotten by God. Through the good and the bad, he trusted that God knew who he was and had faith that everything would be all right.

“Let God Prevail”

Abraham’s posterity was promised many blessings of eternal significance, but that didn’t mean everything would be perfect. His grandsons, Jacob and Esau, fought over who should inherit their father’s birthright. Relatives lied to and tricked each other.
