As a family sing the song “Do As I’m Doing.” Let your child choose the action and everyone else follows them. Then show a picture of the prophet and explain that Heavenly Father has given us a prophet and asked us to follow him. When we follow the prophet we will be kept safe from dangers and come closer to Heavenly Father. Use the “Follow The Prophet Activity.” Place the arrows around your home and play follow the leader as the leader follows the arrows. Display the “Follow The Prophet Banner” in your home during the week.

Give your child ten small snacks. Let them count how many there are. Ask them to give you one back. Try this activity again with something like coins. Explain that Heavenly Father has commanded us to pay tithing. Whenever we earn money we are asked to give 1/10 back to Heavenly Father. This money is used to help build churches, temples, and teach the gospel to the whole world.
Before the lesson cut and prepare the “Popsicle Stick Puzzles.” Read D&C 109:16 and discuss how the temple can be “a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of glory and of God.” Consider sharing experiences of when you have attended the temple to pray, fast, or in faith. Then give the children the popsicle stick puzzle to complete.
Learn about the priesthood by doing “The Priesthood Sort.” Before starting place the cutout illustration of the Aaronic Priesthood and Melchizedek Priesthood on envelopes. Cut each strip and mix them up. Take turns drawing a piece of paper. Read the scripture and sort it in the correct envelope. After completing the sort, sing some songs about the priesthood.
Learn about Zion’s Camp. Read the introduction in the Come Follow Me For Individuals and Families Manual on page 157. Use the “Zion’s Camp Cut and Paste Activity” to follow along with their journey. Read each statement then cut the corresponding picture and glue it on the map. Then go on a “Zion’s Camp Adventure.” Give each person a “Zion’s Camp Badge” and follow the directions in the book.
Before the lesson create a forgiveness photo booth using the “Forgiveness Photo Props.” Read Matthew 18:25. Discuss how much seven times seventy is. Let older children solve this equation. Then teach that it isn’t about the number but that we should always forgive each other. Use the “Forgiveness Scenarios” and let the children practice forgiving. Then take pictures with the photo booth.
With your family read the introduction to the lesson in the Come Follow Me For Individuals and Families Manual on page 149. Let your children create the “Temple Stain Glass Window Craft.” As you work on the craft read D&C 97:15-16 and 95:8. You could sing songs about the temple or go to a temple near you and walk around the temple grounds.
Before you start cut up the letters from the “Repent Word Scramble.” Lay the letters in a mixed up pile in front of your family. Let them unscramble the word. Read D&C 93:1. Invite each person to go to a private place and pray to Heavenly Father to be forgiven. Return back together and show the “Christ Print.”
