Big Ear Headbands
Jun 23 – Jun 29
Enjoy a nature walk and listen for sounds you hear. We use our ears to hear sounds outside, and we also use our ears to listen to the prophet and apostles’ voices. In D&C 68:3-4, we read that their voices and teachings come from Heavenly Father. Make the big ear headbands and wear them as you listen to the song “Come, Listen to a Prophet’s Voice.”

Kingdom of God Coloring Page
Jun 16 – Jun 22
Ask your family what they think it would be like to live in a castle. Show them the “Kingdom of God Castle” coloring page. Read D&C 65. Look for words that describe the kingdom of God. Write these words on the windows of the castle. For example, mighty and powerful, wonderful works, brightness, glory, etc. After you write them on the windows, color the castle picture.

Animal Puppets
Jun 9 – Jun 15
Read as a family D&C 62:3 and discuss how opening our mouths to share the gospel is important. Create the animal puppets and practice opening your mouths to share the gospel using the puppets. Act out scenarios of how you can talk about church at school with your friends.

Follow The Prophet Cards
May 26 – Jun 1
Study the attributes of leaders in D&C 52:14-19, and see if the attributes match those of our prophet and those who speak to us at General Conference. Use the Follow the Prophet cards as you sing “Follow the Prophet” (Children’s Songbook, pg. 110) and see if the prophets have the attributes listed in D&C.

Rolls of the Holy Ghost Activity
May 19 – May 25
As a family, read D&C 49:2 and talk about how we have the fullness of the gospel. Then do the “In Part, But Not All” activity using ingredients to one of your favorite family treats to help your children learn this concept. Share your testimony of the fullness of the gospel and how it has blessed your family.

Build Upon the Rock Pictonary
May 05 – May 11
Teach your kids about being a “light” to the world by giving them flashlights and turning off the lights in the house. Use the flashlights while you Break The Code to study D&C 45:9. After you finish, talk about what it means to be a “light” to the world.

North Star Coloring Page
Apr 28 – May 04
Serving others is serving God. As we serve, we not only help others in need, but receive our own blessings. Read D&C 42:38 and discuss ways you can serve your friends and neighbors this week. Use the Service Chain to complete one act of service each day and discuss how you feel when you serve.

Rolls of the Holy Ghost Activity
Apr 21 – Apr 27
Read D&C 39:6. Use the Rolls Of The Holy Ghost activity to help your family discuss the different roles of the Holy Ghost. Think of examples in your life when the Holy Ghost has played each of the roles. Share them with your family. To end, you could have a fun treat like cinnamon rolls, Tootsie Rolls, or dinner rolls.

The scriptures teach us that we need to prepare our hearts for Jesus to come again (D&C 29:8). That means that we need to do things to let the light of Christ shine through our hearts. Discuss some things you can do to prepare your hearts. Do the Stained Glass Heart Craft together and point out that the heart lets light shine through just like the light of Christ will shine through our hearts as we prepare them for Jesus.

Hum Your Favorite Hymn Game
Mar 17 – Mar 23
Music is a powerful tool in feeling the Spirit and converting us to the gospel of Jesus Christ, as taught in D&C 25. Get ready for a fun, family friendly Hum Your Favorite Hymn game focusing on the importance of how uplifting music draws us closer to Christ, and is a song of righteousness and a prayer.

Playdough Mats
Mar 10 – Mar 16
Show your child a team jersey or uniform (or a picture of someone wearing a jersey.) Explain that when someone wears this jersey, it shows that they are a member of a team! Show a picture of Jesus Christ. Teach that we become members of Jesus Christ’s team when we join His true church. We do not wear a jersey, instead, we get baptized, follow Christ’s example and teach others about His gospel. Place the playdough mats into clear page protectors, laminate or cover with plastic wrap. With your child, recreate the images by pressing playdough onto the mats. Share what blessings you receive from being on Christ’s team.

Responsibilities of Aaronic Priesthood Holders
Feb 17 – Feb 23
Read D&C 13 as a family. Discuss why the ordination of Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery to the Aaronic priesthood is important. As a family, complete the Responsibilities of Aaronic Priesthood Holders sheet that shows what those with the Aaronic Priesthood have the authority to do. Share experiences you have had with those who hold this priesthood and how it blesses your life.

Lost Sheep
Feb 03 – Feb 09
Show your child a picture of a flock of sheep. Explain that a big group of sheep is called a flock and that flocks of sheep need someone to help take care of them and keep them safe. Someone who takes care of sheep is called a shepherd. Read D&C 6:34 & 36. Explain that one of the names of Jesus is “The Good Shepherd” and we are His sheep. Jesus loves us and will always help us and take care of us. With your child, scatter the sheep around the house. Let your child gather the sheep and help Jesus take care of them. Continue scattering and gathering the sheep.

Witness Testimony Scenarios
Jan 27 – Feb 02
Discuss as a family how important it was there were witnesses to The Book of Mormon. Read D&C 5:11 and focus on the three who bore testimony. Remind your children how it is not always easy to stand for the truth, but it’s important. Act out ways to bear witness and testify using the Witness Testimony Scenario cards.

Coloring Page
Jan 20 – Jan 26
Joseph Smith recovered The Book of Mormon in September 1827. Think of how it might look in a wooded area this time of year. Color the Joseph Smith Finds the Gold Plates coloring page with beautiful fall leaves in warm colors. Read JSH 1:59 and teach your children that without Joseph Smith, we would not have The Book of Mormon and fullness of the gospel on earth.

Prayer Pretzels
Jan 13 – Jan 19
As a family read Joseph Smith-History 1:13-14. Discuss how Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. Read the legend of Prayer Pretzels and make some pretzels together with your family. Talk about what we do when we pray. You can pray in your heart, or pray out loud just like Joseph Smith did in the sacred grove. We can get answers to our prayers too.

Chief Cornerstone
Dec 30 – Jan 05
As a family, read Ephesians 2:20 and the 6th paragraph of The Restoration Proclamation. Discuss with your family what a cornerstone is and how Jesus Christ is the “chief cornerstone” of our church. Use sugar cubes or toy blocks to build a temple as a family. It can be as simple or elaborate as you like. When you are finished, remove one of the cornerstones of your temple and see what happens to your temple.

Charity Sodoku
Dec 09 – Dec 15
As you read Moroni 7:44-48, think about the many ways you can show charity and reflect Christ’s pure love to others. Discuss how you can make a greater effort to love like Christ, and then use your creativity to complete the Charity Sudoku together during your discussion.

Ordinance Bubbles
Dec 02 – Dec 08
As you study Moroni 2-6, look for priesthood ordinances that are performed in the Lord’s way. Use the Ordinance Bubbles to discuss some of these special ordinances that require the power of God. Hide the bubbles around the room for a fun search, or attach them to popsicle sticks to read and discuss together.

Scripture Story Guide and Stickers
Nov 25 – Dec 1
As you read Ether 12:6-22, think about how faith works even when we can’t see the full picture. Just like the people in these verses, we can have faith in Jesus Christ and trust that He will guide us. After reading, place your sticker to remind you that faith is a powerful force that helps us move forward, even through challenges.

Media Page
Nov 11 – Nov 17
In Ether 1, the brother of Jared prayed to the Lord for help, and the Lord answered him. This teaches us that, like the brother of Jared, we can pray for specific needs, and Heavenly Father will always answer our prayers. Later in Ether 3, the brother of Jared saw the Lord’s hand and learned that we are created in His image, after the body of His spirit. Additionally, Moroni prophesied in Ether 5 that there would be three witnesses of the Book of Mormon, further affirming its truth. Use the media page to study these stories from Ether.

Scripture Study Stencils
Nov 04 – Nov 10
The Book of Mormon and the Bible both testify of Jesus Christ. To help your children understand this, read Mormon 7:8-10 together, and emphasize how learning the stories from the Bible can strengthen their testimonies of the Book of Mormon. Next, grab some colored pencils and use Scripture Stencils to study stories from both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Highlight the similarities between each testament’s teachings about Christ, deepening your children’s understanding of His gospel.

Shiny Pennies
Oct 28 – Nov 03
Have you ever seen an old, tarnished penny restored to its original shine? This experiment will help teach your children how repentance and godly sorrow can transform our hearts, just as the penny becomes clean again. As you conduct the experiment, read and reflect on Mormon 2:8, 10-15, which describes the Nephites’ remorse for their sins. This will help connect the visual change of the penny to the inner change that repentance brings.

Help your child understand Heavenly Father’s joy when we return to Him with the Journey Home Coloring Page. After reading 3 Nephi 27:30-31, discuss how we feel when something lost is found, and how God feels the same way when we make our way back to Him. Use this meaningful coloring activity to talk about helping others who may feel lost find their way home to Heavenly Father. A thoughtful and creative teaching tool!

Windows of Heaven Craft
Oct 14 – Oct 20
Teach your children about the blessings of tithing with the Windows of Heaven Craft. After reading 3 Nephi 24:10, discuss how paying tithing opens the windows of heaven for blessings. Share personal experiences or stories of how tithing has brought blessings into your life, then create a fun craft to help your children visualize God’s promises. A meaningful and creative way to teach this important principle!

Roll and Pray
Oct 07 – Oct 13
Teach your child the importance of prayer with guidance from 3 Nephi 18:15-25, where Jesus teaches us to watch and pray always. After reading and discussing these verses, play the Roll and Pray game to think about things you are grateful for and what you need to ask for in prayer. This activity helps make family prayers more thoughtful and purposeful!

Treasures in Heaven
Sept 30 – Oct 06
Help your child reflect on the verses from 3 Nephi 13:19-21 and think about the things we should prioritize in life. Play the **Lay Up Your Treasures in Heaven** game together as you discuss what our hearts should treasure most. A fun and meaningful activity for families!

Coloring Page
Sept 23 – Sept 29
The voice of Christ speaks to a group of people. One of the first things He was heard to be saying through the darkness is inviting the people to repent. Read 3 Nephi 9:13-14 emphasizing how Jesus is eager to forgive us if we are willing to come unto Him. Color the “Come Unto Him and Be Forgiven” coloring page as you discuss ways to repent and change.

Signs of His Birth
Sept 16 – Sept 22
Prophets prophesied of things to come and spoke to the Nephites about signs of Christ’s birth. One major prophecy that was fulfilled is when a new star appeared the night of His birth. Read 3 Nephi 1 as you discuss the signs of Jesus’ birth and complete the Signs of Christ’s Birth Scene.

Go & Do
Sept 09 – Sept 15
Have a “breakfast for dinner” meal as a family with heart-shaped pancakes. Make it a teaching moment to show your child that God speaks to us through our hearts. Read Helaman 13:2-5 and emphasize how God spoke to Samuel by putting feelings into his heart. Help your child grasp how to hear the voice of the spirit.

Gadianton Robber Post It Match
Sept 02 – Sept 08
Helaman 8 & 9 speak of corrupt people who were part of the secret band of Gadianton. Nephi speaks to them about their wickedness and describes prophets who had come before and testified of Jesus Christ. Grab some Post-it notes and study the scriptures as a family with the Gadianton Robbers Post-it Match.

Pop the Pride Object Lesson
Aug 26 – Sept 01
Grab some chewing gum to use in a Pop the Pride Object Lesson. As you read Helaman 3:33-34, talk about the Nephite’s pride cycle and how we can find pride within ourselves. Have your child blow a bubble big enough to pop with their gum as you discuss the consequences of being prideful.

Pin Poke Art
July 29 – Aug 04
Read and discuss Alma 38:9 with your family. Talk about how Christ makes it possible for us to repent and be saved. To help you remember this, do the pin-poke art together. When you are done, shine a light behind your paper or hold it up to a window to see the light shine through.

Go and Do
July 22 – July 28
Alma taught, “Faith is not a perfect knowledge of things… If ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.” This means we believe in Jesus even though we cannot see Him. Read Alma 32:17-43 together, and then use the Faith Seed Sort activity to discuss what elements can nourish and strengthen your testimony. This exercise will help deepen your understanding of faith and how to cultivate it in your daily life.

After exploring the various ways people prayed in Alma 30-31, have a family discussion about how each member can learn to pray effectively. As you review the principles of proper prayer, use “The Scriptures Teach Me How to Pray” coloring page to reinforce these teachings in a fun and engaging way. While coloring, emphasize the correct manner of praying to our Heavenly Father, creating a memorable and interactive learning experience.

Passage to Ponderize
July 08 – July 14
Use the Passage to Ponderize sheet to help memorize the powerful verses in Alma 26. You can work on this together as a group or individually, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to reflect on the verses. Once you’ve spent time memorizing, come together as a family to discuss what you’ve learned. Share insights, feelings, and personal interpretations, and explore how these verses can be applied in your daily lives. This collaborative effort will not only strengthen your understanding of the scripture but also foster a deeper spiritual connection as a family.

Story of Ammon Sequencing
July 01 – July 07
Start by showcasing a few instruments to capture your children’s attention. Mention that today’s discussion is about an instrument, and invite the children to guess which one it might be. After some guesses, reveal that the instrument in question is actually us! Read Alma 17 together and discuss the meaning of being an “instrument in the hands of the Lord.” To reinforce this concept, review the Story of Ammon Sequencing. Identify and discuss examples from the story where Ammon served as an instrument in the hands of the Lord.

Priesthood LIght Scavenger Hunt
June 24 – June 30
Prepare your priesthood light bulbs for your activity. Grab a flashlight and dim the lights. You’ll be teaching by flashlight tonight! Read or summarize Alma 13:1-19 for your family. Give everyone a light bulb priesthood quote and discuss. Then use your flashlight to go on your Priesthood Light Scavenger Hunt!

Pick Up Sticks Activity
June 10 – June 16
Start by reading Alma 7:11-12, discuss how Christ mad the ultimate sacrifice for us. Watch the “Because of Him” video and discuss all the things that are made possible because of Him. Read verse 14 and talk about how we need to do things that will help us receive all the blessings that are made possible because of Christ. Show your family the picture of Christ and do the Pick-Up Sticks activity.

Scripture Word Scramble
June 03 – June 09
Prepare you Scripture Word Scramble, then gather your children to read Alma 4:19. Read slowly and let your children see if they can unscramble the words to put the scripture in order. Talk about how sharing your testimony is important. Share your testimony on an experience when someone else’s testimony helped you.

Reflection Sensory Bottle
May 27 – June 02
Read Mosiah 27:14 with your family. Discuss how Alma prayed with much faith and God heard his prayers. Heavenly Father recognizes sincere and mindful prayers and will answer them in His time. Make the Reflection Sensory Bottles to use during your morning and nightly prayers to encourages stillness as you listen for God’s voice speaking to you.

Repentance Backpack Object Lesson
April 29 – May 05
With your family read Mosiah 4:1-3, 10 and discuss the joy and peace we can receive by repenting. Use the Repentance Backpack Object Lesson to help your children understand how making bad choices can weigh us down. Then give each of your children “Repentance Brings Me Joy” sticker.

Go & Do
April 01 – April 07
Before Nephi died, he passed the plates to his younger brother Jacob and gave him the responsibility to preserve the plates. Along with inviting others to come unto Christ, Jacob kept a genealogy of his people. Fill in your family tree printable and tell stories of the people you draw on your tree. See the Go & Do page for details.

March 25 – March 31
Easter is a special time of year, just like Christmas time! Gordon B. Hinkley said: “There would be no Christmas if there had not been Easter. The babe Jesus of Bethlehem would be but another baby without the redeeming Christ of Gethsemane and Calvary, and the triumphant fact of the Resurrection.” Use the videos and songs from the media page to teach your family about Easter.

Coloring Page
February 19 – February 25
As a family read 2 Nephi 9:28-29. Show your children the “To be learned is good…” coloring page and discuss why it is important to hearken to the counsel of God, even if you have learned a lot and are knowledgeable about many things. Then color the page together.

Go and Do
February 05 – February 11
As a family read and discuss 2 Nephi 1:13. Talk about how sin can be like being bound with chains. Discuss Lehi’s testimony in verse 15 and his invitation in verse 23. Help your children understand Jesus Christ can help them overcome sin. As a family do the Go and Do activity together.

Nephi was Commanded to Build a Ship
January 29 – February 04
As a family read 1 Nephi 17:8. Discuss how Nephi was commanded to build a ship, but that was something he had never done before. Talk about how Nephi learned what he needed to do to build a ship. As a family think of ways the Lord has helped you and blessed your lives because you were faithful. Fold a 3D boat together and see if it will float in your sink or bathtub.

Tree of Life Symbols
January 15 – January 21
The Book of Mormon is full of symbols. You will be learning about some symbols in the story of Lehi’s vision in 1 Nephi 8. Have your children listen carefully so they can pick out each symbol as you read. When they hear a symbol read, they should raise their hand and you can stop to discuss each one. Then color it on the Tree of Life Symbols page.

Peace Dove Craft
January 01 – January 07
Read in the Introduction to the Book of Mormon how it can help men gain eternal peace. Then make the Peace Dove craft together as you talk about what peace means to you. Hang your craft somewhere you’ll be able to see it all week and work on being peacemakers.

Coloring Page
December 18 – December 24
Gather together as a family to make a graham cracker nativity scene. As you build a stable from the graham crackers and frosting, talk about the story of Christ’s birth and what it might have been like to be there. Display your nativity scene where you’ll see it all week and be reminded of the gift of our Savior.

Break the Code
December 04 – December 10
In Revelation 1:20, Jesus compares His church to candlesticks. Read this with your family and discuss why they think the church could be like a candlestick. Ask them how they can be a light to those around them. Then follow the instruction page to do a light experiment and give your children a “I can reflect Christ’s light” sticker as a reminder.
