“The Matchless Gift of God’s Divine Son”

Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids

Week 52 | December 22 - December 28 | Christmas

Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids Lesson 52 | December 22-28 | Christmas

The Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ renewed the truth that Christ was born to save all mankind. Through His mortal ministry, His suffering in Gethsemane and on the cross, His ministry in the Spirit World, and His resurrection, He offers healing to all our sorrows and pains. What greater gift could we be given than that?

As parents, we should share how much this gift means to us with our children, not just during Christmas, but every day. Testifying that He knows us and loves us teaches our children how to receive His help in their lives. Together, we can join the prophets in proclaiming, “God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son.”

Come Follow Me FHE lessons include everything you need to make gospel study fun for your family! Empower your children to love the gospel with our scripture-focused lesson activities. Start your free trial now!

THIS WEEK’S COME FOLLOW ME HIGHLIGHTS

Elementary Bundle Lessons & Activities

We have some great activities and resources to help assist you in celebrating a Christ-centered Easter this year! We recommend picking the activities that work best for you and your family. We think just a few activities will allow you to celebrate Easter, but also allow you time to focus on our Savior and what He has done for us. Our hope is that you will find something meaningful for your family to help celebrate this special holiday!

Symbols of Christ Ornaments

Go & Do Activity

Use the Teach the Children Story, Ornament Key and Tree Activity to reflect on the symbols of Christ. The ornaments teach about the symbols of Christmas we see all around us at Christmas time. Use the ornaments, hold them up as they’re mentioned in the story and place them on the tree. The key is designed to discuss two ornaments each day during the week before Christmas. However, you can do this as a family night activity all in one evening instead.

Christ Playdough Mats

Hands-On Activity

Gather together as a family to make different scenes from the nativity with playdough! As you build, read the scripture references that go with each scene and talk about the story of Christ’s birth. What do you think it might have been like to be there? Reflect on the points of view of all those involved on that sacred night.

Born to be the Savior

Coloring Page

Read Helaman 14:5-8 with your family. Discuss the prophecies of Christ’s birth and what things may have amazed you and caused you to wonder as you color the Jesus Christ was Born to Be My Savior coloring page.

Giving a Gift

Hands-On Activity

Wrap a box with a picture of Jesus inside. Explain that Heavenly Father has given His children a precious gift. The gift is more precious than toys or games. The gift is the most precious and important gift that has ever been given! Let your child open the gift. Explain that Heavenly Father gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to the world because He loves all of His children. We give gifts to others to show them that we love them, too. Christmas is a time to celebrate Jesus’ birth. With your child, celebrate Jesus’ birth by having a birthday party. Make cupcakes and let your child help decorate them. Add a candle and sing “Happy Birthday.” Share your testimony of the gift of Christ!

The toddler bundle includes a lesson plan and three activities every week. Grab the toddler bundle in our subscription.

“To Be a Greater Follower of Righteousness”

Abraham lived a life of violence and peace, of trauma and healing, and of promises and faith. Through every trial, Abraham trusted in the Lord and chose to follow Him even when his world was at its darkest. He was rewarded with a covenant that encompasses all of God’s children and will last into the eternities. This covenant and its blessings are extended to our families today.

“Noah Found Grace in the Eyes of the Lord”

The phrase, “found grace in the eyes of the Lord (Moses 8:27), has at least two meanings that can bless our families. One is that Noah lived in a way that allowed the Lord to strengthen him and his family during difficult circumstances. A second meaning is that Noah discovered the peace that comes from looking at life through God’s eyes. By looking at life with an eternal perspective, Noah “walked with God, as did also his three sons” (Moses 8:27) even in a world filled with wickedness.

“The Lord Called His People Zion”

In less than one generation, the world God created was filled with wickedness. One exception was Enoch, a prophet who taught his people how to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. As Enoch talked with God, he was amazed to see that the Divine Creator would cry at the fall of His children: “How is it thou canst weep?” (Moses 7:31). God responded, “They are the workmanship of mine own hands” (Moses 7:32). He was sad because each child of God is precious to Him. He grieves for each one of us when our choices take us away from Him.
