Learn about the first Article of Faith. Sing the First Article of Faith song on pg 122a of the Children’s songbook. Teach that God is our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ is His son and the Holy Ghost is a spirit that helps us feel comfort and know that the gospel is true. Color the Article of Faith coloring page and share your testimony about the gospel truths in the First Article of Faith.

CREATE IT ACTIVITY:

This week’s materials include multiple ways to help your family learn and memorize the Articles of Faith. Create the Article of Faith Flipbook. Review your child’s primary or youth goals. Consider helping them set a goal to memorize the Articles of Faith. Start today!

DO IT ACTIVITY:

Discuss with your family the importance of the Articles of Faith and how they are brief statements of our beliefs and can answer questions that people have about our church. Play the “Articles of Faith Matching Game”. As you find matches discuss the truth that we believe. You could also discuss what kinds of questions people may have that this Article of Faith would answer.

“Beware Lest Thou Forget the Lord”

“Rebel Not Ye against the Lord, Neither Fear”

Moses did not have an easy time being the Israelite’s prophet. From constant squabbles amongst the people to outright apostasy against the Lord, there was plenty of drama he had to deal with. As a prophet, Moses knew what the Israelites could be if they stayed faithful. He told Joshua it would be less of a struggle if everyone could see what the Lord had shown him: “would God that all the Lord’s people were prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them!” (Numbers 11:29).
