Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids Lesson 6 | February 2-8 | Moses 7

In less than one generation, the world God created was filled with wickedness. One exception was Enoch, a prophet who taught his people how to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. As Enoch talked with God, he was amazed to see that the Divine Creator would cry at the fall of His children: “How is it thou canst weep?” (Moses 7:31). God responded, “They are the workmanship of mine own hands” (Moses 7:32). He was sad because each child of God is precious to Him. He grieves for each one of us when our choices take us away from Him.

When our children, or even our spouse, make choices that drive us away physically or emotionally, it hurts. Our families are the “workmanship” of our own hands. We can find comfort that we are not alone in this pain. God weeps with us, and He has a plan to bring all of us back together again. We must trust Him and live His Son’s gospel. As we strive to do so, our families will find healing and be “of one heart and one mind” (Moses 7:18).

Come Follow Me FHE lessons include everything you need to make gospel study fun for your family! Empower your children to love the gospel with our scripture-focused lesson activities. Start your free trial now!

THIS WEEK’S COME FOLLOW ME HIGHLIGHTS

Elementary Bundle Lessons & Activities

We have some great activities and resources to help assist you in celebrating a Christ-centered Easter this year! We recommend picking the activities that work best for you and your family. We think just a few activities will allow you to celebrate Easter, but also allow you time to focus on our Savior and what He has done for us. Our hope is that you will find something meaningful for your family to help celebrate this special holiday!

Scavenger Hunt

Scripture Study

We learn how to be the best members of Jesus Christ’s church in Moses 7:18. Go on a scavenger hunt to find icons that complete the scripture. As you hunt, look at each icon and discuss the significance of each symbol. Fill in the blanks using the symbols and read the scripture as a family. Set a goal to live in a Zion home this week by having one heart, one mind, and dwelling in righteousness.

“Look” Mini Book

Hands-On Activity

Make and read the Moses 7 Mini Book as a family. Notice how often the word ‘look’ appears in the story. Cut out and color your “look” glasses. Wear them as you read. Underline or highlight each time the word ‘look’ appears in the scriptures.

Heart Attack!

Surprise Activity

Get ready for some family fun with a ‘heart attack’ surprise! Read Moses 7:18 about Zion and how we can be of “one heart and one mind” with others. As a family, brainstorm someone you can spread some joy to by decorating their door with hearts and uplifting messages. Use the “Heart Attack” template to cut out several hearts. Then, plan your attack. Shhh…be quiet and don’t get caught!

For kids ages 1-4 at home and in nursery or sunbeams.

Prayer Sandwich

Hands-On Activity

Teach that Enoch spoke with God face-to-face. We can also speak to God through prayer. Teach the steps of prayer by making a “Prayer Sandwich.” Cut out the ingredients and explain the steps:

1. Address Heavenly Father.
2. Express gratitude. Ask your child what things we can thank Heavenly Father for.
3. Ask for blessings. Ask your child what things we should ask for.
4. Close in the name of Jesus Christ.

Put the prayer sandwich together in order. Reinforce the steps by making a real sandwich with your child. Share your testimony about how prayer has blessed your life.

The toddler bundle includes a lesson plan and three activities every week. Grab the toddler bundle in our subscription.

“Teach These Things Freely unto Your Children”

From the very beginning, the gospel of Jesus Christ was taught by prophets to help families find peace in the world and obtain the promise of being together forever. Parents taught their children to “call upon the name of the Lord, and the Lord blessed them” (Moses 6:4). In today’s world, we shouldn’t hesitate to start teaching our children to do the same. From showing our toddlers how to pray to helping our teenagers plan a FHE lesson, we can bless their lives now and forever as they learn to “call upon the name of the Lord.”

The Fall of Adam and Eve

Parenting is not easy. The experiences of Adam and Eve show that being a parent has never been without trials and heartache. Yet through raising their family, they learned true happiness comes as we try to follow Jesus Christ. Eve said without the pain that had happened in her life, she “never should have known good and evil, and the joy of our redemption, and the eternal life which God giveth” (Moses 5:11).
