Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids Lesson 20 | May 12-18 | Doctrine and Covenants 46-48

Do you have a cherished gift from a birthday or Christmas that you’ll always remember? The Lord gives gifts to those who are ready and willing to use them to do His will. In D&C 46, we read examples of spiritual gifts that are meant to bless and teach the early saints how to grow the Church. These include the gifts of testifying of Christ, the gift of administering the Church, and the gift of having faith.

We should live worthy of having these gifts and teach our children to seek them. The Lord promises in verse 11 that “to every man is given a gift by the Spirit of God.” These gifts will help our homes be places of peace and our families live in greater love towards each other.

Come Follow Me FHE lessons include everything you need to make family scripture study fun for your kids! Empower your children to love the gospel with our engaging activities. Start your free trial now!

Family Memories

Go & Do Activity

With your child, look at a family picture book or memory book together that includes pictures of your family and your child as a baby. You may also want to watch videos from when your child was a baby. Talk about how the photos and the videos help you remember the things that are important to you. We can also write down the things that are important to us. We can keep family records of the stories of our family members. Heavenly Father has asked us to keep records (D&C 47). Complete the “I Can Keep My Family History” mini book with your child. Teach that keeping records helps us remember the things that Heavenly Father has blessed us with.

The toddler bundle includes a lesson plan and three activities every week. Grab the toddler bundle in our subscription.

“To Be a Greater Follower of Righteousness”

Abraham lived a life of violence and peace, of trauma and healing, and of promises and faith. Through every trial, Abraham trusted in the Lord and chose to follow Him even when his world was at its darkest. He was rewarded with a covenant that encompasses all of God’s children and will last into the eternities. This covenant and its blessings are extended to our families today.

“Noah Found Grace in the Eyes of the Lord”

The phrase, “found grace in the eyes of the Lord (Moses 8:27), has at least two meanings that can bless our families. One is that Noah lived in a way that allowed the Lord to strengthen him and his family during difficult circumstances. A second meaning is that Noah discovered the peace that comes from looking at life through God’s eyes. By looking at life with an eternal perspective, Noah “walked with God, as did also his three sons” (Moses 8:27) even in a world filled with wickedness.

“The Lord Called His People Zion”

In less than one generation, the world God created was filled with wickedness. One exception was Enoch, a prophet who taught his people how to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. As Enoch talked with God, he was amazed to see that the Divine Creator would cry at the fall of His children: “How is it thou canst weep?” (Moses 7:31). God responded, “They are the workmanship of mine own hands” (Moses 7:32). He was sad because each child of God is precious to Him. He grieves for each one of us when our choices take us away from Him.
