Jesus Christ, “the Author of Eternal Salvation”

Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids

Week 45 | October 30 - November 5

We have multiple lessons for a variety of ages in our digital subscription to help you find what works best for your family. Our goal is to help families come closer to Christ and we’ve worked really hard on providing more options to help families implement Come Follow Me in their home.

  1. In Hebrews 1-5 an over-arching theme is that because Jesus suffered for me, He can understand my trials. Let your children color the coloring page as you play songs that teach this principle. A couple songs we like are Gethsemane and The Miracle.
  2. Teach that Priesthood Holders are called of God. Read Hebrews 5:4 and then let your child complete the puzzle. Talk about each office of the priesthood on each piece of the puzzle.
  3. Read Hebrews 3:7-19 and teach your family what it means to have a soft heart. You can use objects like a rock and sponge and pour water over them to show when we have a soft heart we absorb the teachings of Jesus. And a heart hard, like the rock, means we are not open to absorb the teachings of Jesus.

This week is a little different than most. We have fun daily activities for you to give your family an opportunity to have a lot of discussions about how to come unto Christ.

Add the “I Believe in Christ” rung to your ladder (Hebrews 1:2-10, 2:8-10, 17-18). Sing hymn 134, “I Believe in Christ” together and discuss what you know and believe about Jesus Christ. Look at all the pictures of Christ in the manual together. How do they make you feel? You can also use the Scripture Story Guide and Stickers for Hebrews 2:1-11. (pg. 9-10)

Add the “Priesthood Holders are Called of God” ladder rung (Hebrews 5:4). Sing “The Priesthood is Restored” (Children’s Songbook pg 89). Use keys as a visual while you discuss priesthood keys and who holds what keys. Use the priesthood chart as a visual of the different offices of the priesthood. Then, enjoy a treat together (you can use our “P-Rees-thood” tags).

These are just two of the six fun, creative, and engaging activities for this week’s Come Follow Me FHE lesson. See your lesson plan page and materials for more activities and QR codes to videos and songs that go along with what we are learning about this week!

Each week the Come Follow Me Teen Lesson includes 4 discussion questions, a challenge, QR code to a video made by experienced Seminary teachers, and a scripture print to print off and display.

The merry mail will only be available in your account during the current month, October 1-31st.

“I Will Lead You Along”

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God’s kingdom on the earth, but it didn’t just appear out of nowhere. As the Church grew from a few members to millions, God gave wisdom to men and women “for a permanent and everlasting establishment and order unto my church… to the salvation of man, and to the glory of your Father who is in heaven” (Doctrine and Covenants 78:4). Just as with the early saints, we are led along by His hand in bringing the gospel to the world. We can always trust in Him to guide us in all things.

Each day, we face trials and setbacks in our lives. From bad weather and traffic to messy homes and sick kids, difficulties seem like they won’t stop coming. We must choose to carry on and plead with our Heavenly Father for help and to see the good in our lives. He will always answer those prayers and allow us to see our progress in the path that leads back into His presence.
