Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids Lesson 15 | April 6-12 | Exodus 7-13

Pharaoh resisted the call of the Lord’s prophet to let the Israelite’s leave Egypt. Signs were given as evidence of the Lord’s willingness to do whatever was necessary to free His people. The consequences of not following the prophet were very real.

There are signs everywhere that the Lord loves us. His willingness to help us come back to Him is without end. If we follow the prophet and look for miracles in our lives, we will truly see how much He cares.

THIS WEEK’S COME FOLLOW ME HIGHLIGHTS

Elementary Bundle Lessons & Activities

We have some great activities and resources to help assist you in celebrating a Christ-centered Easter this year! We recommend picking the activities that work best for you and your family. We think just a few activities will allow you to celebrate Easter, but also allow you time to focus on our Savior and what He has done for us. Our hope is that you will find something meaningful for your family to help celebrate this special holiday!

Miracle Wheel

Scripture Study

Study Exodus 7 as a family. Explain that the Lord instructed Moses and Aaron to show miracles to Pharaoh to help him see the power of God. There were sorcerers who were not called of God but did similar things to the miracles Moses and Aaron performed (Exodus 7:11). Draw a parallel to our day and explain that Satan is like the sorcerers and tries to deceive us. We need to have spiritual eyes to see the miracles of God in our lives. Then, make the Miracles Wheel together.

Passover Sheep

Hands-On Activity

Make the Passover Paper Plate Sheep craft to learn about the Passover. Then, read Exodus 11:5-6 and 12:1-13. As a family, discuss ways you can be reverent during the sacrament and remember Christ as you take the sacrament. Make a plan for this Sunday and try it out! Be sure to have a debrief after church to see if your plan helped enrich your family’s sacrament experience.

Taking the Sacrament

Coloring Page

Grab your favorite coloring materials and color the “How Can I Remember Jesus Christ When I Take the Sacrament?” coloring page together as a family (Parents, you make one too!). Discuss ways we can remember Jesus during the Sacrament and share special experiences you’ve had with it.

Toddler Bundle Lessons & Activities

For kids ages 1-4 at home and in nursery or sunbeams.

Lambs of God

Family Activity

Sing “Old MacDonald had a Farm.” After singing about a sheep, teach that a baby sheep is called a lamb. Explain that Jesus is referred to as the Lamb of God (see 1 Nephi 11:21). We can remember that Jesus is the Lamb of God when we see lambs in the field. The Israelites remembered Jesus when they saw a new lamb. Make homemade play dough with your child and create a play dough lamb using the Little Lamb Play Dough Mat. Share your testimony that Jesus is the Lamb of God. He sacrificed for our sins and provided a way for us to repent and be forgiven.

The toddler bundle includes a lesson plan and three activities every week. Grab the toddler bundle in our subscription.

“If the Lord Be God, Follow Him”

By the time the Israelites had their third king, the nation split into two groups: the 10 tribes in the north, forming the Kingdom of Israel, and the remaining two tribes in the south, forming the Kingdom of Judah. The Lord called a mighty prophet, Elijah, to remind His people of their true King: Jehovah (Jesus Christ). Elijah testified to the people that their idol worship was taking them farther away from God.

“Hear Thou in Heaven Their Prayer”

Going from tabernacle to temple was a big deal for the Israelites. So big, in fact, that even those building the temple had to be worthy of the task. David’s sin in his lust for Bathsheba disqualified him to build the Lord’s house, resulting in his son Solomon completing it. For building the temple with a pure heart, the Lord promised Solomon that so long as he kept the commandments, “I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people” (1 Kings 6:13).

“The Battle Is the Lord’s”

The story of David versus Goliath teaches many important principles, with one being that if we try our best and have real faith in God, He will help us make the most of our efforts. Though an army was present and he was offered the king’s armor, David brought his sling and his belief that the Lord would prevail through him. It was enough: “the Lord saveth not with sword and spear” (1 Samuel 17:47) but with trust and hope.
