Toddler Come Follow Me Activity

Learn about being a missionary by enjoying these fun activities.

Talk about ways we can all be missionaries now. Color the coloring page as you talk about how “gathering Israel” means sharing the gospel with others.
Read Jeremiah 16:16 and explain that missionaries are like fishers. They share the gospel and try to gather others to learn about Jesus. Make a fishing pole and catch some fish. Each time someone catches a fish talk about one way your family can share the gospel.
Teach your family what a potter is. Explain that Heavenly Father is like a potter by helping us become special and beautiful. Play with play dough and have fun making creations.

Heavenly Father knew us before we were born. Read Jeremiah 1:5 sing some songs like “I Lived In Heaven” and complete the Plan of Salvation puzzle.

Summary of this week’s Surprise Activity:

Read Jeremiah 1:4-19 and sing Follow The Prophet. Play follow the leader and let each person take a turn being the leader. Make the Follow The Prophet paper chain and reading the things the prophet has asked us to do. Choose one chain to work on this month.

“Noah Found Grace in the Eyes of the Lord”

The phrase, “found grace in the eyes of the Lord (Moses 8:27), has at least two meanings that can bless our families. One is that Noah lived in a way that allowed the Lord to strengthen him and his family during difficult circumstances. A second meaning is that Noah discovered the peace that comes from looking at life through God’s eyes. By looking at life with an eternal perspective, Noah “walked with God, as did also his three sons” (Moses 8:27) even in a world filled with wickedness.

“The Lord Called His People Zion”

In less than one generation, the world God created was filled with wickedness. One exception was Enoch, a prophet who taught his people how to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. As Enoch talked with God, he was amazed to see that the Divine Creator would cry at the fall of His children: “How is it thou canst weep?” (Moses 7:31). God responded, “They are the workmanship of mine own hands” (Moses 7:32). He was sad because each child of God is precious to Him. He grieves for each one of us when our choices take us away from Him.

“Teach These Things Freely unto Your Children”

From the very beginning, the gospel of Jesus Christ was taught by prophets to help families find peace in the world and obtain the promise of being together forever. Parents taught their children to “call upon the name of the Lord, and the Lord blessed them” (Moses 6:4). In today’s world, we shouldn’t hesitate to start teaching our children to do the same. From showing our toddlers how to pray to helping our teenagers plan a FHE lesson, we can bless their lives now and forever as they learn to “call upon the name of the Lord.”
