Come Follow Me Toddler Activity

While coloring the Armor of God coloring page, teach about each piece of armor and what it represents. Explain that when we make good choices we will be protected. Make a Shield of Faith out of cardboard. Decorate it with stickers or markers or cover it with aluminum foil. Tape a cardboard handle to the back. Use soft items like rolled up socks to throw at your child’s shield for them to block.

SEE IT ACTIVITY:

Gather the items to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Ask your children to tell you how to make the sandwich. Follow their directions exactly. Then explain that just like there is an order to making a pb&j sandwich, God has and order for how He reveals His will. Use the “All Things Must Be Done In Order Cut and Paste Activity.”

Ruth is an example of a convert to the faith who trusted in the Lord to keep her and her mother-in-law safe during a famine. Ruth’s loyalty to God helped her see His blessings in her life and trust that even in an uncertain world, good things would come.

What does the perfect parent look like? Is it someone who never yells? Who is always present with their children? Maybe it’s someone who cooks food that the kids never complain about. The Book of Judges teaches us that even with specific rules and expectations, the children of Israel had a habit of returning to sin and idolatry time and time again. Even after they sinned or complained yet again, the Lord always invited them to start new and return to Him.

“Be Strong and of a Good Courage”
