Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids

Week 7 | February 6 - February 12

We have multiple lessons for a variety of ages in our digital subscription to help you find what works best for your family. Our goal is to help families come closer to Christ and we’ve worked really hard on providing more options to help families implement Come Follow Me in their home.

  1. Sing the song “A Bushel and a Peck” then read John 3:16. Ask your child who loves them and write each person they say on a heart. String the hearts on some yarn to make a banner and hang it in their room. Then color the coloring page together.
  2. Create playdough mats by inserting the Woman at the Well page in a sheet protector or laminate it. Summarize or read the story in John 4:5-15. Let your child play with playdough on the mat as you tell the story.
  3. Read John 3:1-10 and talk about the importance of baptism. Show pictures of your baptism day or an older child’s baptism day. Set a goal with younger children to be baptized when they are 8.

Read the story of the women at the well in John 4:7-26. Talk about how Jesus can change us and then have fun making and playing with slime.

Read John 2:18-22. Have a discussion about how our bodies are a temple. Do the Unclean House Dry Erase Activity by taking turns “destroying” or making the house unclean and then “rebuilding” or making it clean again.

These are just two of the six fun, creative, and engaging activities for this week’s Come Follow Me FHE lesson. See your lesson plan page and materials for more activities and QR codes to videos and songs that go along with what we are learning about this week!

Each day, we face trials and setbacks in our lives. From bad weather and traffic to messy homes and sick kids, difficulties seem like they won’t stop coming. He will always answer those prayers and allow us to see our progress in the path that leads back into His presence.

We often keep things of value in special places: important documents kept in a secured file or safe, dinner china in a display cabinet, or treats too good to share with kids up on the top shelf. These things are kept safe and out of easy reach for good reasons, but there are other things of value we need to make sure are always available to us. Our scriptures are one of these things.

“The Lord Requireth the Heart and a Willing Mind”

We all make mistakes as parents. Sometimes our attention is wrongly distracted from a child’s needs, or perhaps we raised our voice in anger when we should have been calm. Do we seek forgiveness from both the Lord and our children when we do these things? Do we sincerely forgive our children when they err? As the Savior Jesus Christ plainly explains in Doctrine and Covenants 64, forgiveness is a crucial component of achieving peace in the home.
