Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids

Week 50 | December 5 - December 11

We have multiple lessons for a variety of ages in our digital subscription to help you find what works best for your family. Our goal is to help families come closer to Christ and we’ve worked really hard on providing more options to help families implement Come Follow Me in their home.

Toddler Come Follow Me Activity

  1. Read Zechariah 9:9-11 and teach that the prophet Zechariah taught about Jesus many years before Jesus was born. Color the coloring page and sing the song “Miracle.”
  2. The prophet Haggai told the people to build a temple and worship Heavenly Father there. Make binoculars and go on an “I love to see the temple” scavenger hunt
  3. Give your child a gift of a picture of Christ and explain that He is our most wonderful gift. Read Zechariah 14:9. We can prepare for when he comes again by learning about Him and keeping His commandments.

Read Haggai 1:6-8 and listen for what the Lord tells the people. Do the object lesson and talk about how your family can work on putting God first in your lives.

Summary of this week’s Hands-On Learning Activity:

If we walk in the ways of the Lord we can become clean through Him. Just like Joshua was given a change of clothing from his filthy garments to clean raiment. Make the paper dolls to change their clothes from filthy to clean.

“We Believe”

Though we have reached the end of the Doctrine and Covenants, the work of the Restoration is still ongoing: “We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God” (Articles of Faith 1:9). Prophets still reveal the will of God. The Church is still growing to fill the Earth.

“The Vision of the Redemption of the Dead”

“What happens after we die?” This is a question commonly asked by all of God’s children. Because of continuing revelation through living prophets, we know! Doctrine and Covenants Sections 137 and 138 reveal that our loved ones who have died go to a place of rest if they were faithful in their testimony of Christ, where they are then prepared to teach the gospel in the spirit world. Those who died who were not faithful are given the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ and accept ordinances performed by the living: “and thus was the gospel preached to the dead” (D&C 138:30).
