They “Never Did Fall Away”

Change is a difficult process, but one that brings both immediate and eternbal rewards. The people taught by Ammon and his brethren were blessed by change and had their hearts filled with joy as their faith in Christ grew. A key decision in their efforts to change was to lay down their “weapons of… rebellion” (Alma 23:7). Doing so eliminated a practice that had kept them separated from the love and power of Jesus Christ.

A Mighty Change of Heart

Does it ever seem like you can’t get your kids to be nice to each other? Does doing the same thing over and over not make any difference? Alma found that as prophet, doing the same thing over and over wasn’t helping the people of Zarahemla repent. However, Alma realized that what his people needed wasn’t more lecturing. They needed a “mighty change” of heart (Alma 5: 14) as he did when he was a rebellious youth.

They Were Steadfast and Immovable

The age of the kings has ended with Mosiah as Alma the Younger becomes the first chief judge of the Nephites. Just like Alma the Elder, our prayers will be answered so long as we keep the faith and strive to love those who need our help.

A Light … That Can Never Be Darkened

In a land where the wicked ruled, one man heard God’s call to choose the right. Abinadai preached to King Noah and his priests, teaching them essential truths about Jesus Christ and His divine role as the Savior of the world. We can follow Abinadai’s example by sharing their testimonies and teaching that “redemption cometh through Christ the Lord” (Mosiah 16:15).

In the Strength of the Lord

One of those who heard King Benjamin’s speech was a man named Ammon, who found the people of Limhi deep inside the lands of the Lamanites. Because he listened to the prophet’s voice, he was able to share the gospel with an entire kingdom of lost Nephites! Just like Ammon, we can also treasure up the words of God’s prophets and bring light to those who need to know God loves them.
