Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids Lesson 24 | June 9-15 | Doctrine and Covenants 60-63

It’s easy to wish the Lord would show us everything we need to do to be happy and successful. However, that’s not His way. Instead, we are to act under His guidance and do the things we feel would bring to pass righteousness. As He tells the saints in Doctrine and Covenants 62, do that “as seemeth you good, it mattereth not unto me; only be faithful.”

Jesus Christ can make good of our decisions and carry out His will through us. Whatever we choose to do, so long as we are faithful to the Lord’s direction, we can expect Him to bless us our choices. This compliments what the Lord told the saints in last week’s lesson: “Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness” (D&C 58:27).

Toddler Bundle Lessons & Activities

For kids ages 1-4 at home and in nursery or sunbeams.

Bear Record BINGO

Go & Do Activity

Start by asking your child how they feel about Jesus. About Church? About the scriptures? Share your feelings about the gospel, then teach that Heavenly Father has asked us to share the gospel. When we teach others about the gospel, we are bearing record of gospel truths. We can bear record that Jesus loves us, and we can bear record that the prophet is called of God. Read D&C 62:4-5. Think about other gospel truths that your family can bear record of. With your family play I Can Bear Record BINGO. Use gummy bears as the markers as you play or cut out the bear markers. The first player with three in a row, wins. As you play the game, talk about each of the gospel truths that you can bear record of. Share your testimony about how you can share the gospel with others by bearing record of gospel truths.

The toddler bundle includes a lesson plan and three activities every week. Grab the toddler bundle in our subscription.

“Be Strong and of a Good Courage”

Most of the Israelites heading into the Promised Land had been born in the wilderness. Few remembered the treacherous journey across the bottom of the Red Sea, yet all would experience the miracle again as they crossed the Jordan River on dry ground. This time, however, it was not a crowd of fleeing former slaves who worshipped golden calves. It was the camp of Israel, a covenant-making people who had proven their faithfulness to the Lord.

“Beware Lest Thou Forget the Lord”

Moses taught that faith is best nurtured through the natural rhythms of family life rather than through formal lessons alone. He commanded parents: “Thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way” (Deuteronomy 6:7). Integrating gospel conversations into daily activities helps our children guard against “forgetting the Lord” during times of ease and prosperity.

“Rebel Not Ye against the Lord, Neither Fear”

Moses did not have an easy time being the Israelite’s prophet. From constant squabbles amongst the people to outright apostasy against the Lord, there was plenty of drama he had to deal with. As a prophet, Moses knew what the Israelites could be if they stayed faithful. He told Joshua it would be less of a struggle if everyone could see what the Lord had shown him: “would God that all the Lord’s people were prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them!” (Numbers 11:29).
