Jesus Christ, “the Author of Eternal Salvation”

The scriptures that will be studied this week are Hebrews chapters 1-6. This week is a little bit different. As a family (or individually) you will be building a ladder to Christ. Follow the instructions and each day complete the reading, do the activity, add the step on your ladder, discuss the topic and sing the song below that aligns with the day.

Be Not Soon Shaken in Mind, or Be Troubled

This week we get to talk about the second coming! We recommend reading the bible verses in the manual on page 163 as you learn together. We have provided a poster to help teach and facilitate a family discussion. You can even use the black and white version as a coloring page to keep their hands busy while you read the verses. Remember hands on = minds on. Display the poster in your home all week as a reminder of what you have learned.

For the Perfecting of the Saints

Lesson 39 covers two weeks (Sept 30-Oct 13) due to General Conference. You can spread these activities out over two weeks, make up a lesson that you may not have gotten to during the year, or focus on what you learned from General Conference for the second week of this lesson. We are studying and learning from the book of Ephesians this week. Our lesson bundle is focusing on the armor of God and preparing to listen to the Prophet.

Walk in the Spirit

The main lesson this week includes a scene of Galations with figurines of Paul, Titus, and Barnibus to color. “Chains of bondage” made out of a paper chain to teach about the freedom the gospel brings. A cute crown that says “Christ liveth in me.” You can decorate these crowns with any craft supplies you have on hand (glitter, sequins, beads, stickers, etc). Fruit in a basket to discuss the fruits of the spirit.

God Loveth a Cheerful Giver

We chose to focus the lesson on 2 Corinthians 8:1-15 and 9:5-15 where we learn that we can cheerfully serve those who are in need. “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
Set some goals as a family to serve each other this week. We have provided a fun way to do this with the Secret Service Kit.
