The Lord is My Shepherd

Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids

Week 33 | August 8 - August 14

We have multiple lessons for a variety of ages in our digital subscription to help you find what works best for your family. Our goal is to help families come closer to Christ and we’ve worked really hard on providing more options to help families implement Come Follow Me in their home.

Toddler Come Follow Me Activity

Learn about how the Lord is our Shepherd by enjoying these activities with your family.

  1. Color the coloring page as you talk about what a shepherd is. Explain to your family that Jesus is like our shepherd and we’re his sheep. He’ll always look after us.
  2. Psalms 8:3-6 and 33:5-6 are like a song praising God for His creations. Look at some pictures of the sun, moon, and stars and go on a nature scavenger hunt to appreciate some of God’s creations.
  3. Create an obstacle course and take turns being blindfolded. Let one person be the leader and take the blindfolded person by the hand to lead them. Sometimes we don’t know which way to go but Jesus will take us by the hand and lead us.

“God Meant It unto Good”

Joseph’s forgiveness of his brothers did not come after they had paid restitution or offered an apology. He forgave them the moment he realized they had changed from their jealous ways when they offered themselves in place of Benjamin for punishment. How overwhelming it must have been for Joseph to see such love amongst his brothers. His forgiveness came with no strings attached: “be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves” (Genesis 45:5).

“The Lord Was with Joseph”

In every moment of Joseph’s story, God was with him. From his brothers’ betrayal and serving Potiphar, to a friend of Pharaoh and the savior of his family, at no time was Joseph forgotten by God. Through the good and the bad, he trusted that God knew who he was and had faith that everything would be all right.

“Let God Prevail”

Abraham’s posterity was promised many blessings of eternal significance, but that didn’t mean everything would be perfect. His grandsons, Jacob and Esau, fought over who should inherit their father’s birthright. Relatives lied to and tricked each other. The prophet’s very own family was dysfunctional, yet that didn’t stop those who were righteous from striving to follow Jesus Christ.
