Joseph Smith taught that those called of God to serve His children would be blessed through their struggles. Obeying God’s commandments can bring rewards that bless us in life and in eternity. When we look to our Father in Heaven for help in our lives, we choose Him instead of relying only on ourselves. We can feel His love daily, for “if ye receive me in the world, then shall ye know me” (D&C 132:23).

We have some great activities and resources to help assist you in celebrating a Christ-centered Easter this year! We recommend picking the activities that work best for you and your family. We think just a few activities will allow you to celebrate Easter, but also allow you time to focus on our Savior and what He has done for us. Our hope is that you will find something meaningful for your family to help celebrate this special holiday!
Scripture Study
Read the Scripture Jumble with your family. Discuss what you learned from the jumbled verse. Did you learn anything? Why? Read D&C 132:8 and then use it to unscramble the verse. Read it again. Does it make more sense this time? Why? Discuss how Heavenly Father doesn’t want us to be confused because He loves us.
Go & Do Activity
Show your family the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ print. Read D&C 130:22. Ask your children what our bodies have in common with Heavenly Father and Jesus. Explain how we are created in their image. As a family, make a new healthy recipe or do something to move your body.
Coloring Activity
Read D&C 132:22 and discuss the way to return to live with Heavenly Father. Talk about the importance of making covenants as part of the way back to Him. Next, get your favorite coloring supplies and color the “I Can Live with Him Again” coloring page.

For kids ages 1-4 at home and in nursery or sunbeams.
Go & Do Activity
Use your child’s doll or toy figure to play a fun game. Direct your child to point to the doll’s head and then the toes. Point to the elbows and then the nose. Continue this game, naming the different parts of the doll’s body. If your child is extra wiggly, set the doll away from you. Have your child run or do different actions to the doll, and then have them show you the body part. Explain that Heavenly Father has given us bodies. We can do so many wonderful things with our bodies. With your child, sing “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” (Children’s Songbook, pg. 275a) and “I Wiggle” (Children’s Songbook, pg. 271). Teach that Heavenly Father and Jesus have bodies too. Our bodies were created in God’s image. That means that our bodies look just like Heavenly Father’s. Read D&C 130:22. Complete the Created in God’s Image activity page by following the instructions. Share your testimony that Heavenly Father and Jesus have bodies like us.

In every moment of Joseph’s story, God was with him. From his brothers’ betrayal and serving Potiphar, to a friend of Pharaoh and the savior of his family, at no time was Joseph forgotten by God. Through the good and the bad, he trusted that God knew who he was and had faith that everything would be all right.
Abraham’s posterity was promised many blessings of eternal significance, but that didn’t mean everything would be perfect. His grandsons, Jacob and Esau, fought over who should inherit their father’s birthright. Relatives lied to and tricked each other. The prophet’s very own family was dysfunctional, yet that didn’t stop those who were righteous from striving to follow Jesus Christ.
Abraham and Sarah had a lot to worry about. From infertility and famine to war and the safety of their family, it could have been easy to forget their covenants while focusing on their daily concerns. Yet they showed faith by putting the Lord first each day. As a result of keeping their covenants, they knew the Lord would help them throughout their lives. As Abraham told his son, Isaac, “God will provide” (Genesis 22:8). We should follow Abraham’s example of faith and always put the Lord first.
