This Is the Way

Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids

Week 10 | March 2 - March 8

Read 2 Nephi 31:20-21. Discuss as a family what it means to feast and how we can apply that to feasting on the words of Christ. Then complete the feasting on the words of Christ plate provided in your materials.

In 2 Nephi 32:8-9 we learn more about prayer. Cut and laminate the prayer puzzles and play the game to complete each one.

Sing some songs to help teach about prayer. See your summary page for song suggestions.

After your discussion on prayer and places we can pray, practice and model praying.

One of the bonus ideas this week includes reading and discussing 2 Nephi 31:17-21. Make a straight and narrow path with painters tape on the carpet. Let each member of the family walk the path towards a picture of Christ. Discuss how we can stay on the path in our lives.

Read and discuss 2 Nephi 31:4-13. Complete the coloring page while you listen to and learn the song Baptism.

This week also includes a scripture marking guide. There are two versions. One is meant for younger children with assistance from a parent. The other one is meant for older children to complete individually. Both versions are meant to be a guide for marking and studying their scriptures.

“I Will Declare What He Hath Done for My Soul”

This week’s lesson from Psalms (Psalms 49–51; 61–66; 69–72; 77–78; 85–86) centers on God’s endless mercy, forgiveness, and role as our safe refuge. The psalmists openly share their struggles, fears, and mistakes, showing us that faith isn’t about being perfect—it’s about knowing who to turn to when we need help.

“The Lord Is My Shepherd”

In modern times, the Lord declared “the song of the heart is a prayer unto me” (Doctrine and Covenants 25:12). In ancient times, songs, or psalms, were used to praise the Lord and remember His covenants with His people. Many Psalms are attributed to King David, whose relationship with God is one of the most detailed in the entire Old Testament. It’s no wonder David is thought to be the author of so many songs that praise the Lord for His strength, His mercy, His patience with His children, and His eternal love for all mankind.

“Yet Will I Trust in Him”

Job had many blessings in his life: a large family, a devoted spouse, and wealth that provided plenty and more for his household. Job gave thanks to God for his blessings, but even when nearly every blessing was taken away, he did not lessen his faith. Instead, as those around him said his faith had been a waste of time, Job showed his trust in the Lord by exercising Christlike patience and long suffering. Eventually, Job’s faith was rewarded, and his trust in God was justified.
