Plant This Word in Your Hearts

Week 29 | July 13 - July 19

As you read Alma chapter 32:17-43 stop at verse 21 and use the Code Breaker.

Use the Faith Seed Sort activity to discuss some things we can do to make sure our testimony is nourished.

Have a wiggle break and sing the song Faith. Making up actions to the words is a good way for children to remember the words.

End the lesson by planting a seed in a cup.

As a bonus idea this week, read the Simplified Scripture Story of Zenos and Zenock. Discuss different places and times that you can pray. You could even play charades to act out some of the things you discuss. Make the Prayer Necklace Tags and let the children wear them throughout the week to remind them to pray.

Another bonus idea is to use the Scripture Story Guide as you read Alma 32:26-35. There is always a scripture guide for junior and senior age children.

How overwhelming it must have been for Joseph to see such love amongst his brothers. His forgiveness came with no strings attached: “be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves” (Genesis 45:5).

Through the good and the bad, he trusted that God knew who he was and had faith that everything would be all right.

“Let God Prevail”

Abraham’s posterity was promised many blessings of eternal significance, but that didn’t mean everything would be perfect. His grandsons, Jacob and Esau, fought over who should inherit their father’s birthright. Relatives lied to and tricked each other. The prophet’s very own family was dysfunctional, yet that didn’t stop those who were righteous from striving to follow Jesus Christ.
