I Will Lead You Along

Week 30 | July 12 - July 18

We have multiple Come Follow Me subscriptions and multiple activities in each subscription to help you find what works best for your family. Our goal is to help families come closer to Christ and we’ve worked really hard on providing more options to help achieve our goal.

Toddler Come Follow Me Activity

Hold your child’s hand and ask them to lead you to different rooms in the house. Tell your child that they are great at leading you along. Explain that Jesus leads us along too. When we let him lead us along we are safe and are able to make good choices. Read D&C 78:18. Explain that Jesus leads us because he loves us. Cut out the mama duck and baby duck activity. Attach the ducks with a string with the mama duck in the front. Let your child pull them around helping the mama duck lead her babies. The mama duck loves her babies and wants to keep them safe so she leads them around. Share ways that Jesus has led in your life.

Simplified Come Follow Me Activity

Read Doctrine and Covenants 78:3-7. Discuss what the Bishop’s Storehouse is and it’s purpose. Then color the “Bishop’s Storehouse Coloring Page.”

“Thou Art Come … for Such a Time as This”

Esther never set out to be queen of the most powerful empire in the world. Born into servitude as part of a conquered people, the best life Esther could have hoped for would have been a quiet life far away from the homeland of her ancestors. Yet when trouble came, it wasn’t her beauty or good luck that saved her people’s lives; it was her faith in God. Through her trust in the Lord and her willingness to act in faith, Esther was able to accomplish much more than she could alone.

“I Am Doing a Great Work”

Returning to Jerusalem after 70 years in captivity, the Israelites were eager to restore that which they had lost. The prophets Ezra and Nehemiah helped lead the people in rebuilding the wall around the city and in repairing the temple. But this was more than rebuilding their place of worship: it was a return to their covenants with God.

“Our Eyes Are upon Thee”

After many years of living separately, King Hezekiah of Judah invited the people of the Kingdom of Israel to come down to Jerusalem and worship the Lord during the Passover. Many who came to the temple did not remember all the cleansing ordinances and were not fully prepared to participate. Rather than scorn them, Hezekiah made sure that no one who attended Passover was left out: “The good Lord pardon every one that prepareth his heart to seek God” (2 Chronicles 30:18-19). Because of this, “there was great joy” during the Passover in Jerusalem as the people grew closer together in worship (2 Chronicles 30:26).
