Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids Lesson 51 | December 16-22 | Moroni 10

The finale of the Book of Mormon ended as it began: an invitation from a prophet to consider the Lord’s tender mercies. Moroni calls upon us to remember all that God has done for us, and that He will continue to bless us in many ways. One of these blessings is to know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that through the Holy Ghost, we can “know the truth of all things” (Moroni 10:5). As we remember the Lord and continually seek to know the truth of His teachings, we will feel His love for us each day.

Use this week’s Come Follow Me FHE lesson to help teach gospel principles found in the scriptures. These lessons include everything you need to make Come, Follow Me fun for your kids! Join our membership for only $10 a month, and you’ll gain access to a treasure trove of resources to strengthen your family’s spiritual foundation and growth.

This week, teach your children the chapters of Alma 43-52. You will find an activity book for your children (one for ages 3-6 and one for ages 7+). Print your activity book pages, then cut all of them in half, except the cover. You will fold the cover in half to help keep the pages together. Put all your pages in order inside the cover and then staple along the left-hand edge to keep it together. Make one book for each of your children (see lesson for details).

Moroni’s Code

Scripture Study

Complete the Break the Code activity and then read Moroni 10:32-33. Discuss what it means to come unto Christ and be perfected in Him. What makes that possible? Set personal and family goals that will help you strive to be as He is.

Book of Mormon Review

Hands-On Activity

Think about all the stories and lessons that have impacted you in the Book of Mormon. Play the Book of Mormon Review Game and reflect on Moroni’s exhortation in Moroni 10:3 to remember how merciful the Lord has been.

Spiritual Gifts

Surprise Activity

Read Moroni 10:8-17 and discuss with your family how Heavenly Father gives us spiritual gifts to bless others. Place the spiritual gift verse strips into a gift bag. This week, we’ll be sharing the gospel with your little ones using the activity book in the Elementary Bundle. Be sure to use the activity book for younger children (Level 1, Recommended for ages 3-6). Print your activity book pages, then cut all of them in half, except the cover. You will fold the cover in half to help keep the pages together. Put all your pages in order inside the cover and then staple along the left-hand edge. Make one book for each of your children.

Loving Pasta Pendant

Hands-On Activity

Jesus wants us to come unto Him. Help your child understand what that means by reading Moroni 10:32. Say, “Jesus wants us to come to Him. This means we try our best to be like Him. Most importantly, He wants us to love Him!” Ask your child to copy and then repeat the phrase, “I love God with all my might, mind and strength!” Discuss with your child what they can do to show God that they love Him. Using a bag of penne, rigatoni, pinwheel pasta, or a mixture of all, encourage your little one’s fine motor skills by making a pasta necklace. Use the “I love God with all my might, mind and strength!” pendant as the main piece. Have your child color the pendant, cut it out and punch the hole. Using a piece of yarn, let your child thread the pasta onto the necklace. Place the pendant in the middle and then thread on more pasta. Tie the string together to create a necklace and let your child wear it proudly throughout the day!

The toddler bundle includes a lesson plan and three activities every week. Grab the toddler bundle in our subscription.

“Noah Found Grace in the Eyes of the Lord”

The phrase, “found grace in the eyes of the Lord (Moses 8:27), has at least two meanings that can bless our families. One is that Noah lived in a way that allowed the Lord to strengthen him and his family during difficult circumstances. A second meaning is that Noah discovered the peace that comes from looking at life through God’s eyes. By looking at life with an eternal perspective, Noah “walked with God, as did also his three sons” (Moses 8:27) even in a world filled with wickedness.

“The Lord Called His People Zion”

In less than one generation, the world God created was filled with wickedness. One exception was Enoch, a prophet who taught his people how to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. As Enoch talked with God, he was amazed to see that the Divine Creator would cry at the fall of His children: “How is it thou canst weep?” (Moses 7:31). God responded, “They are the workmanship of mine own hands” (Moses 7:32). He was sad because each child of God is precious to Him. He grieves for each one of us when our choices take us away from Him.

“Teach These Things Freely unto Your Children”

From the very beginning, the gospel of Jesus Christ was taught by prophets to help families find peace in the world and obtain the promise of being together forever. Parents taught their children to “call upon the name of the Lord, and the Lord blessed them” (Moses 6:4). In today’s world, we shouldn’t hesitate to start teaching our children to do the same. From showing our toddlers how to pray to helping our teenagers plan a FHE lesson, we can bless their lives now and forever as they learn to “call upon the name of the Lord.”
