Week 29 | July 6 - July 12

Top start this week’s Come Follow Me lesson, read Alma chapter 31 as a family. You may also consider watching the Book of Mormon video about the Rameumptom. Use the Prayer Comparison Poster to write down the differences between how Alma prayed and how the Zoramites prayed.

Let the children use the Character Stick Puppets to retell the story in their own words.

Next, use the Rameumptom Tower Puzzle. Each piece has a song and a question. Hang the tower on the wall and let each child take a turn removing a piece. Sing the song, discuss the principles taught in the song, and answer the question.

Read Alma 30:56-60 and write down ways you can be protected from the devil. Let everyone take a turn to share.

Make a collage of images that testify there is a God. Use old newspapers or magazines around your house to cut out pictures.

Go on a walk and observe nature. Color the things you see on the coloring page as you walk.

“The Lord Looketh on the Heart”

Have you ever been jealous of your neighbor? The Israelites sure were. They wanted a king to rule over them as other nations had, believing that life would be better and more secure. However, when Israel’s prophet prayed about having a king as a leader, the Lord responded that the people’s jealous desire was actually a rejection of Him as their true King: “they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them” (1 Samuel 8:7). Their need for what others’ possessed had decreased their faith in Him.
