This week’s journey through the Book of Mormon takes us to Mosiah 1-3, where the timeless teachings of King Benjamin are shared. In these chapters, we witness King Benjamin’s profound wisdom as he imparts crucial lessons to his people and to our families. From his powerful address concerning service and faith, to the importance of focusing on the temple, King Benjamin’s words resonate with truth and enlightenment. 

In the entirety of the Book of Mormon, power of prayer is taught most clearly by the prophet Enos. His “wrestle which [he] had before God” (Enos 1:2) shows us how we can find peace and hope through our relationship with Christ. 

The Gathering of Israel is one of the most significant teachings of Jacob. This week’s lesson helps families understand the power that comes from keeping commandments and striving to follow Jesus Christ, with each action of faith drawing us closer to Christ and His saints. Jacob also shares an encounter he had with someone trying to challenge his faith. 

Step into the shoes of the prophet Jacob as he teaches the importance of genealogy and covenant keeping to his people, the Nephites. Jacob was a prophet who truly understood the role of families in God’s plan of happiness, and he did all he could to help the Nephites understand their individual role in bringing their families to Christ together.
