Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids

Week 15 | April 5 - April 11

We have multiple Come Follow Me subscriptions and multiple activities in each subscription to help you find what works best for your family. Our goal is to help families come closer to Christ and we’ve worked really hard on providing more options to help achieve our goal.

Toddler Come Follow Me Activity

Make and decorate “binoculars” by taping two paper towel or toilet paper rolls together. Let the kids decorate them with markers or stickers. Play “I Spy” and let your child find items while you give clues to the corresponding item. Explain that when we focus on things of God we are looking for things that remind us of Heavenly Father and Jesus. Find things around your room with the binoculars like a family picture or pictures of Christ, that help us focus on the things of God.

Simplified Come Follow Me Activity

Play “Build Upon The Rock Pictionary.” As you guess the drawing discuss how you can apply it to your life to build upon a rock.

Standard Come Follow Me Activities

The Standard Activities includes the Simplified activity and more!

STUDY IT ACTIVITY:

The “Passage To Ponder” and “Church History Read Along” are always great resources to help your family study a specific verse in depth and study the Saints reading in a kid friendly way. This week we are ponderizing D&C 33:10.

COLOR IT ACTIVITY:

Color the “Things Of God Coloring Page” and consider going on a walk outside to observe the things of God. You can also play the “Focusing On The Savior Game.” Hide 10 items under a towel or blanket. Let your family see the items for 20 seconds and try to memorize all of them. Then let them try again by only focusing on and memorizing the things of the God.

“We Believe”

Though we have reached the end of the Doctrine and Covenants, the work of the Restoration is still ongoing: “We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God” (Articles of Faith 1:9). Prophets still reveal the will of God. The Church is still growing to fill the Earth.

“The Vision of the Redemption of the Dead”

“What happens after we die?” This is a question commonly asked by all of God’s children. Because of continuing revelation through living prophets, we know! Doctrine and Covenants Sections 137 and 138 reveal that our loved ones who have died go to a place of rest if they were faithful in their testimony of Christ, where they are then prepared to teach the gospel in the spirit world. Those who died who were not faithful are given the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ and accept ordinances performed by the living: “and thus was the gospel preached to the dead” (D&C 138:30).

He “Has Sealed His Mission and His Works with His Own Blood”

Doctrine and Covenants Section 135 could be viewed as the conclusion of the entire Doctrine and Covenants scriptures, were it not for additional revelation given to the saints. This section witnesses the divinity of the Prophet Joseph’s calling. It declares Joseph’s work to be of God and that it will never fail. It also testifies that those who read the Doctrine and Covenants, as well as the Book of Mormon, “will be reminded that the Book of Mormon, and this book of Doctrine and Covenants of the church, cost the best blood of the nineteenth century to bring them forth” (D&C 135:6).
