Toddler Come Follow Me Activity
We can be a witness of Christ like the Shepherds
- Do the fun object lesson as described on the lesson plan page with a treat and a doll. Explain to your child what it means to be a witness. Color the coloring page as you read or listen to Matthew 2:1-12.
- Watch this video and tell your family to watch for the shepherds. Then create a shoe box scene with the shepherds and sheep. You can add the star and angel if you want. Let you child reenact the shepherds traveling to see Baby Jesus.
- Learn the Nativity Song as a family. Use the printable nativity pieces as stick puppets to hold up when you sing about them. Sing this song every night before bed this week.
Elementary Come Follow Me Activities
Summary of this week’s Go & Do Family Activity:
Read Matthew 2:13-23 and discuss why personal revelation is important in our lives. Make some cookies and as a family decide who to deliver them to. Have a discussion about how the natural man would want to keep the cookies and eat all of them but we can practice putting off the natural man and receive personal revelation.
Summary of this week’s Hands-On Learning Activity:
As you read Matthew 2:1-12 have everyone think about what gifts they can give Jesus. Make a foldable box for each person and let them write down 3-5 ideas and put it in their box. Then mix up the boxes and read all the gifts aloud.
