Week 43 | October 19 - October 25

To start this Come Follow Me lesson, ask your children if they could be given anything what would it be? Let each family member take a turn to respond. Read together 3 Nephi 28. Use the 3 Nephi 28 Foldable Book. Let the children color it and put it together. Then let them retell the story using their book. Explain that Christ gave the Disciples whatever they wanted. It was spreading the gospel that brought them joy and happiness.

Read 4 Nephi 1:1-18 as a family or read it before hand and summarize the verses for your family. For younger children use the People Puppets to help discuss what true happiness is. For older children use the Guide to Happiness Activity.

As a bonus activity, read together 3 Nephi 27:1-12. Discuss as a family why it is important to be called “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” Make the crown and share one reason you are grateful to be a member of the church.

“Hear Thou in Heaven Their Prayer”

Going from tabernacle to temple was a big deal for the Israelites. So big, in fact, that even those building the temple had to be worthy of the task. David’s sin in his lust for Bathsheba disqualified him to build the Lord’s house, resulting in his son Solomon completing it. For building the temple with a pure heart, the Lord promised Solomon that so long as he kept the commandments, “I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people” (1 Kings 6:13).
