We have multiple lessons for a variety of ages in our digital subscription to help you find what works best for your family. Our goal is to help families come closer to Christ and we’ve worked really hard on providing more options to help families implement Come Follow Me in their home.
Toddler Come Follow Me Activity
- When Jesus was on the earth He had 12 apostles. We have 12 apostles today too. Show your children the picture of the apostles. Teach your children that these men lead and guide our church. Then hold up the coloring page and teach them who the prophet and first presidency is. Color the coloring page as you listen to “Latter-day Prophets“
- Read the story in Acts 5:1-11. Tell your children to put their hands on their head every time they hear the word “lie”. This story is not meant to teach us that if we lie we will die but it teaches us that it is important to be honest with ourselves, others, and the Lord. Have the children draw on the foldable how they can be honest at home, church, school, and play.
- Read Acts 1:8,22-26. Help your kids understand what it means to follow the prophet by playing follow the leader. Let each person have a turn being the leader. Then make the mama duck and duckling train. Let your kids pull it around all week to remember how important it is to follow God’s leaders.
Elementary Come Follow Me Activities
Summary of this week’s Go & Do Family Activity
Before the lesson, make a batch of bad and good honesty cookies. Read about the story of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5:11. After your discussion about honesty, give your family one of the bad cookies and tell them how good they are. Then try to convince them to eat one of the good cookies. They may be hesitant because you told them how yummy the bad cookies were.
Summary of this week’s Surprise Activity
Read the picture story of Peter and John healing a lame man. Discuss how they used God’s power to heal him. Then let your children draw a time when Heavenly Father blessed others through them.
