Toddler Come Follow Me Activity

Get Toddler Lesson

In Acts 10 we are reminded that we are all children of God. Pick a verse or two that stand out to you and share them with your children. As you color the coloring page, listen to this song.
As you tell the story in Acts 12:1-17 of Peter being freed from prison, give each person a stick puppet to be in charge of. We suggest studying the story ahead of time to summarize it for toddlers. But remember to read a couple verses from the scriptures.
Let each child decorate a paper cup to be their special cup. Write “I believe in Christ” on the cup and then let them decorate with stickers or markers. Read Acts 11:26. Then fill the glasses and do a little toast together.

Summary of this week’s Hands-On Learning Activity

Read Acts 10:34-35 and discuss what it means that God is “no respecter of persons.” Make the Pizza together and discuss that we are all an important “pizza” God’s plan.

Summary of this week’s Surprise Activity

After reading Acts 12:1-17 work as a family to put together the storyline. Testify to your children that prayer works. Take the opportunity to kneel in family prayer and pray for someone you know that is in need of a prayer right now.

“Comfort Ye My People”

There are stages in life that feel like they go on forever, especially in parenthood: sleepless nights helping kids stay in their own beds, potty training for weeks unending, and running to and from after-school activities. While the privilege of being a parent is a blessing, it can be exhausting just trying to keep up every day. Isaiah taught that when we feel like we have nothing left in us, we should rely on the Lord to give us strength (Isiah 40:29). After all, are we not caring for His children?

“A Marvellous Work and a Wonder”

One could look at the work being done by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today and describe it as “marvelous” and a “wonder” (Isaiah 29:14). With temples across the world, missionaries on nearly every continent, and millions of suffering people relieved by Church aid, it truly is impressive. Yet Isaiah marveled not at the Church itself, but at the healing power of Jesus Christ in the hearts of so many of God’s children. It’s not the temples themselves that are a wonder, but the eternal covenants made inside. It’s not the number of missionaries serving that is a marvelous work, but the individual souls who are being taught by each sister and elder. It’s not the exact dollar amount spent on humanitarian efforts that made Isaiah’s vision great, but the difference made in each life through kindness and giving in the Savior’s name.

“God is My Salvation”

Though the writings of Isaiah can be intimidating to study, we are encouraged to dive in and embrace this special part of the Old Testament. Isaiah is unique in that the entire book is written by him, as opposed to the historical texts we read earlier this year. Think about it: the word of the Lord straight from the mouth of an ancient prophet in your own home.
