Come Follow Me Toddler Activity

Joseph Smith’s parents taught their children how to help each other, pray, and read scriptures. Use the “Finger Puppets” and role play the family helping on the farm. Add farm animals to make it more interactive.

Simplified Come Follow Me Activity

Teach about saying meaningful prayers. Challenge everyone to earn 20 pennies throughout the week. Each time they say a prayer they write on the back what prayer it was (ex. Monday Morning) and then place the penny in the piggy bank.

DO IT ACTIVITY:

Begin by reading Joseph Smith History 1:14-26. Use the “First Vision Story Sticks” to review what you just learned about. Then use the “First Vision Name Tags” to act out the story. You could consider dressing up as each character to make acting out more fun.

STUDY IT ACTIVITY:

Take time to ponderize the scripture that started it all, James 1:5 . Use “A
Passage to Ponderize” to help children memorize it. Let children read it, write it, and then say it. Review the scripture each night to help children memorize the verse.

“Yet Will I Trust in Him”

Job had many blessings in his life: a large family, a devoted spouse, and wealth that provided plenty and more for his household. Job gave thanks to God for his blessings, but even when nearly every blessing was taken away, he did not lessen his faith. Instead, as those around him said his faith had been a waste of time, Job showed his trust in the Lord by exercising Christlike patience and long suffering. Eventually, Job’s faith was rewarded, and his trust in God was justified.
