We have some great activities and resources to help assist you in celebrating a Christ-centered Easter this year! We recommend picking the activities that work best for you and your family. We think just a few activities will allow you to celebrate Easter, but also allow you time to focus on our Savior and what He has done for us. Our hope is that you will find something meaningful for your family to help celebrate this special holiday!
Hands-On Activity
Help your children learn more about prayer by reading Psalm 86:7 together. Discuss different times we can pray and why it’s important to take time to think about what we want to say before we begin. Use the I Can Pray: My 5-Finger Prayer book to help guide the discussion and teach meaningful ways to pray.
Surprise Activity
Prepare for this activity by gathering a backpack and several heavy objects for the Repentance Backpack Object Lesson. Begin by reading Psalm 51:10 and talk with your children how they can have a “clean heart” and “right spirit” with the Lord. Do the object lesson and have a discussion on the importance and joy of repentance. See the instruction page for full details.

Family Activity
Give your child a choice between two small snacks. Explain that every day
we make choices—we choose what to wear, what to eat, what to say, and what to do. Sometimes we must choose be-tween something good and something bad. Choosing the right means making the best, most righteous choice. Share a personal experience when you had to choose the right. Then read Psalm 51:10 together. Explain that King David prayed for help to make good choices, and we can ask Heavenly Father for help, too. Play the Choose the Right Raceway game with your child and remind them that when we choose the right, our lives are blessed. End by singing “Choose the Right Way”.

In modern times, the Lord declared “the song of the heart is a prayer unto me” (Doctrine and Covenants 25:12). In ancient times, songs, or psalms, were used to praise the Lord and remember His covenants with His people. Many Psalms are attributed to King David, whose relationship with God is one of the most detailed in the entire Old Testament. It’s no wonder David is thought to be the author of so many songs that praise the Lord for His strength, His mercy, His patience with His children, and His eternal love for all mankind.
Job had many blessings in his life: a large family, a devoted spouse, and wealth that provided plenty and more for his household. Job gave thanks to God for his blessings, but even when nearly every blessing was taken away, he did not lessen his faith. Instead, as those around him said his faith had been a waste of time, Job showed his trust in the Lord by exercising Christlike patience and long suffering. Eventually, Job’s faith was rewarded, and his trust in God was justified.
