Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids Lesson 16 | April 14-20 | Easter

The First Vision wasn’t the only time Jesus Christ appeared to the Prophet Joseph. On Easter Sunday in 1836, the Savior stood in the Kirtland temple and declared, “For behold, I have accepted this house, and my name shall be here” (D&C 110:7). For the first time in millennia, a temple of God was again on the earth.

Today, there are hundreds of temples where saints of all nations gather to learn about Jesus Christ, His Atonement, death, and resurrection. We are always invited to come closer to the Savior in the temple and feel His love, for even as He told Joseph, “I will manifest myself to my people in mercy in this house” (D&C 110:7). In His house, we will find promised peace and guidance.

This Easter-themed Come Follow Me FHE lesson includes everything you need for a fun and impactful scripture study with your family. Teach your children to love learning about Jesus Christ with our gospel-focused lesson activities. Start your free trial now!

“The Family Is Central to the Creator’s Plan”

Every family comes with their own set of trials and blessings. Parents and children alike have both memorable times together, as well as times in which forgiveness is needed to move forward in love and harmony. As the Proclamation teaches, Jesus Christ is the key to strengthening bonds and repairing relationships that break: “Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Ultimately, all we do as a family in righteousness prepares us to live with God, exalted, as a family in heaven.

“We Believe”

Though we have reached the end of the Doctrine and Covenants, the work of the Restoration is still ongoing: “We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God” (Articles of Faith 1:9). Prophets still reveal the will of God. The Church is still growing to fill the Earth.

“The Vision of the Redemption of the Dead”

“What happens after we die?” This is a question commonly asked by all of God’s children. Because of continuing revelation through living prophets, we know! Doctrine and Covenants Sections 137 and 138 reveal that our loved ones who have died go to a place of rest if they were faithful in their testimony of Christ, where they are then prepared to teach the gospel in the spirit world. Those who died who were not faithful are given the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ and accept ordinances performed by the living: “and thus was the gospel preached to the dead” (D&C 138:30).
