“A Marvellous Work and a Wonder”

One could look at the work being done by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today and describe it as “marvelous” and a “wonder” (Isaiah 29:14). With temples across the world, missionaries on nearly every continent, and millions of suffering people relieved by Church aid, it truly is impressive. Yet Isaiah marveled not at the Church itself, but at the healing power of Jesus Christ in the hearts of so many of God’s children. It’s not the temples themselves that are a wonder, but the eternal covenants made inside. It’s not the number of missionaries serving that is a marvelous work, but the individual souls who are being taught by each sister and elder. It’s not the exact dollar amount spent on humanitarian efforts that made Isaiah’s vision great, but the difference made in each life through kindness and giving in the Savior’s name.

Elementary Bundle Lessons & Activities​

We have some great activities and resources to help assist you in celebrating a Christ-centered Easter this year! We recommend picking the activities that work best for you and your family. We think just a few activities will allow you to celebrate Easter, but also allow you time to focus on our Savior and what He has done for us. Our hope is that you will find something meaningful for your family to help celebrate this special holiday!

The Rock of our Salvation

Scripture Study

This week’s scripture activity will help your family focus on things that point to the Savior. Read Isaiah 14:3, 25:8, and 28:16 together. Talk about how Isaiah’s teachings lead us to Christ. Then, work with your family to compile a list of scriptures that talk of Christ. Help your children collect rocks to use for the Pointing to the Savior Rock Painting activity, which will help point others to the Savior.

Trust in Christ

Hands-On Activity

Start by talking together about trust. What does trust mean? How can you tell if someone is trustworthy? Who are the people you trust in your life? Next, read Isaiah 26:4 and discuss how we can trust in the Lord. Try a family trust activity like a trust fall or a blindfolded obstacle course, where one person is blindfolded and another leads them safely through. Discuss how, just like you trusted your family to catch you or guide you, we can trust that the Lord will always be there to help and support us!

Restoring the Gospel

Family Activity

With your child, build a structure using blocks or Legos. Have your child knock the structure over, then help them put it back together again. Explain that when you rebuild it, you are “restoring” it. Teach that Jesus restores what is broken or lost. Explain that when Jesus lived on the earth, He established the gospel, but over time, the gospel was lost. Hundreds of years later, the gospel was restored— or put back together—through the Prophet Joseph Smith.
