MARSHMALLOW AND PATIENT PLANT CHALLENGES

James 1:2-4 and 5:7-11 teach us about patience. Dive into these scriptures as a family and discuss the significance of patience in our lives. See the Go & Do page for more details.

WORDS IN ACTION

Hands-On Learning Activity [create it]

Toddler Bundle Lessons & Activities

For kids ages 1-4 at home and in nursery or sunbeams. The toddler bundle Includes a full lesson plan with THREE activities that align with scripture written by an early childhood educator. These include a coloring page, another printable activity and a movement activity that help young children understand the scriptures. Here are a couple highlights from this week’s lesson.

I CAN BE KIND

Kickstart your lesson by spelling the word KIND with your bodies, forming each letter one by one. Lay on the floor, with one person becoming the K, their body forming the “long stick” of the letter K while extending their arms out to create the “in-out part.” Stay in place on the floor until all the letters are formed.

MARSHMALLOW PATIENCE

In James 5:7-11, we learn about the importance of patience. Patience is a Christlike characteristic that blesses our lives. Explain this concept to your toddlers by giving each child a marshmallow to hold but not eat. Offer an additional marshmallow if they can wait 1-2 minutes without eating the first one. Reward those who wait with their patience by giving them the promised marshmallows. Finish with a joyful family cheer: gather in a circle, put your hands in the middle, and cheer aloud, “I can be patient!” Repeat as many times as your little ones desire.

With these engaging activities, your family will have a blast studying the scriptures together. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to strengthen your child’s faith and understanding of the gospel. Join us at Come Follow Me FHE and make Come Follow Me lessons at home a memorable experience for your kids!
