April 4 – April 10 Come Follow Me Lesson for Kids: Stand Still, and See the Salvation of the Lord

Toddler Come Follow Me Activity

Tell the story found in Exodus 14 about Moses parting the Red Sea. Point out that Heavenly Father told the people to fear not because He would be with them and help them. Heavenly Father gave Moses the power to part the Red Sea. The Israelites walked across on dry ground and were saved from the Egyptians. Fill a small plastic bin with water. Use a straw to try to part the water by blowing it. Then try to separate the water with your hands. Explain that parting the Red Sea was a miracle. Share your testimony that we don’t need to fear when we have hard things because Heavenly Father will help us too.

Elementary Come Follow Me Activities

DO IT ACTIVITY:

Learn together about the importance of listening, hearing, and heeding revelation from Moses. As you read the story in Exodus 14:5-22, pay attention to how Moses receives revelation. Then, have your children create and fill in their “Hear Him Journal”. Talk with your family about how you hear Him and how they can learn to hear Him in their lives too.

SURPRISE ACTIVITY:

Read Exodus 15:23-25; 16:14-15; and 17:1-6 as a family. Discuss what the Israelites were doing and how God provided for them. Then, do the quail and manna activity. Scatter the quail and manna across the floor. Let the children use their basket to gather the quail and manna. See the instruction page for how to make a basket out of a brown paper bag.
