Use the Charity Tree included in this lesson as a Light the World advent calendar. Go to comeuntochrist.org to learn more about Light the World and to download a calendar of ideas for each day.
This weeks Come Follow Me FHE lesson is focused on the charity. Place the Heart Attack Hearts all around the room and let the kids guess what the lesson is about. If they say love explain that charity is a fancy word for love.
Read together Moroni 7:47 and talk about how charity means the pure love of Christ. Let everyone think of a story when Christ showed charity.
Introduce the Charity Tree. Come up with acts of service that your family can do during the month of December. Hang this up somewhere in your home and choose an act of charity each day. We bought these scratch off stickers to cover the ornaments after you write on them. Scratch off one each day and complete that act of charity.
Use the Scripture Study Guide to learn more about charity.
Think of someone that could use something to brighten their day. Color and decorate the Heart Attack Hearts. Write compliments or uplifting messages on the hearts and tape them to their door.
Use the Hope in Christ coloring page as a bonus activity this week. Have a discussion about how Christ helps us through hard times.
Read Moroni 7:20-48. Use the Good and Evil Sort activity and talk about how having faith helps us lay hold upon each of these good things.
