Begin the lesson by reciting together the Picture Scripture Read Along. Try to memorize the verse. You could create actions to go along with each picture to help your children remember the verse.
Next, play the heart matching game. Explain that when we believe in Christ we will have a mighty change of heart.
Follow the lesson summary sheet to turn the lesson to reviewing the covenants we make at baptism. Use the Baptismal Board Sort activity.
Display the Bee a Covenant Keeper Hive Print. Give each child a sheet of bees and let them write or draw covenants we make at baptism on each bee. But out each bee and glue onto the hive print.
At the end of the lesson give each person a Bee a Covenant Keeper handout. You may choose to purchase Burt Bees chapstick to include with the handout.
You can also use this Bee A Covenant Keeper Hive Print later in the week as a bonus activity. Discuss ways we can choose to be a covenant keeper. Pass out the “Chews to be a covenant keeper” handout at the end.
Other bonus ideas include the scripture marking guides, singing songs and testifying of Christ while displaying the picture of Christ in the Come Follow Me For Individuals and Families Manual, using the Christ heart pins to discuss more in depth what it means to have a change of heart and to have Christ written on our heart, and consider using our Sacrament Tray file folder game as you discuss taking the sacrament and renewing our covenants.
