September 16 – September 22 Come Follow Me Lesson for Kids, God Loveth a Cheerful Giver

Here it is! The lesson bundle for week 37. The scriptures to study continue in 2 Corinthians chapters 8-13. Be sure to prayerfully study these scriptures. We chose to focus the lesson on 2 Corinthians 8:1-15 and 9:5-15 where we learn that we can cheerfully serve those who are in need. “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

Set some goals as a family to serve each other this week. We have provided a fun way to do this with the Secret Service Kit.

These UV pens make it possible to write secret service notes. The ink is only visible under the UV light. We recommend getting one for each child so they can write secret notes as well as read secret notes they get. This rainbow stamp pad is a fun and simple way for the kids to sign their secret service notes with a fingerprint.

This weeks lesson bundle also includes a coloring page, turn the frown upside down print, break the code, and “I’m Trying To Be Like Jesus” song chart.

We are excited to announce that you can now give a Come Follow Me FHE gift card to a friend, family member, or anyone else who could benefit from our lessons. The gift cards can be applied to the initial payment of a membership or anything else in our shop! With the holidays just around the corner this could be a great gift to share how Come Follow Me FHE has been life changing for your family.

As a family sing the song “Do As I’m Doing.” Let your child choose the action and everyone else follows them. Then show a picture of the prophet and explain that Heavenly Father has given us a prophet and asked us to follow him. When we follow the prophet we will be kept safe from dangers and come closer to Heavenly Father. Use the “Follow The Prophet Activity.” Place the arrows around your home and play follow the leader as the leader follows the arrows. Display the “Follow The Prophet Banner” in your home during the week.

Give your child ten small snacks. Let them count how many there are. Ask them to give you one back. Try this activity again with something like coins. Explain that Heavenly Father has commanded us to pay tithing. Whenever we earn money we are asked to give 1/10 back to Heavenly Father. This money is used to help build churches, temples, and teach the gospel to the whole world.
