Before Nephi died, he passed the plates to his younger brother Jacob and gave him the responsibility to preserve the plates. Along with inviting others to come unto Christ, Jacob kept a genealogy of his people. Fill in your family tree printable from the lesson and tell stories of the people you draw on your tree.
Knowing from Faith
Hands-On Activity
Begin by reading Jacob 4:6 together. Talk about what Jacob taught and how we can gain hope and unshakeable faith: searching the words of the prophets and gaining a testimony of them. Study the words of our current prophets and leaders with the “Power in the Prophet’s Words” mini book and a fun surprise reveal!

Read Jacob 2:17-19 and talk about how your family can help others. Choose a few ways to help others this week and make a plan to do that this week as you color the coloring page.

Toddler Bundle Lessons & Activities

Family Books
Coloring Activity
Print, cut and staple the mini books before the lesson begins. Gather any family photos you have from around your house, family history books or albums and place them on the table. Teach your family about who is in the photos, books, etc. Next, read aloud Jacob 1:2-3. Afterwards, show your little ones that just like Jacob wrote down his life and family stories, we can, too! Then hand out the family history mini-book to each child and read it together. Let your children color as you put the book together. Reread it again during the week.
