October 11 – October 17 Come Follow Me Lesson for Kids: His Sacrifice Shall Be More Sacred Unto Me Than His Increase

We have multiple Come Follow Me subscriptions and multiple activities in each subscription to help you find what works best for your family. Our goal is to help families come closer to Christ and we’ve worked really hard on providing more options to help achieve our goal.

Toddler Come Follow Me Activity

Teach your family about the law of tithing. Give your child ten small snacks. Let them count how many there are. Ask them to give you one back. Try this activity again with something like coins. Explain that Heavenly Father has commanded us to pay tithing. Whenever we earn money we are asked to give 1/10 back to Heavenly Father. This money is used to help build churches, temples, and teach the gospel to the whole world. Complete the tithing activity page and share some of the blessings your family has received from paying tithing.

Simplified Come Follow Me Activity

Use the “Rise Again Object Lesson” to learn about trials the saints went through. You will need helium balloons, magnets, and tape for this activity. Begin by reading the introduction to this week’s lesson in the Come Follow Me Manual for Individuals and Families on page 175. Tie a helium balloon around your ankles to keep it from floating away. As your family to list some of the trials the saints were going through at this time. For each trial mentioned tape a magnet to the balloon. Once the balloon starts to sink or can no longer float discuss how God helped the saints through these trials. As you discuss, remove the magnets from the balloon. Just like the ballon was able to rise again so were the saints.
