We are so excited to start studying the Doctrine and Covenants this year. We have multiple Come Follow Me subscriptions and multiple activities in each subscription to help you find what works best for your family. Our goal is to help families come closer to Christ and we’ve worked really hard on providing more options to help achieve our goal.
Come Follow Me Toddler Activity
Before the lesson hide the pictures provided in your materials around the room or around your house. Begin by asking your child if they have ever had to search for something and how they felt when they found it. Let the child use the magnify glass to find the pictures you hid. Teach that when we search the scriptures we find the words of Jesus Christ and we also find happiness.
Simplified Activity
Use the “How Did We Get The Doctrine and Covenants Flipbook” to help teach the lesson. Allow the children to hold the flipbook and read aloud. Let them be the teacher. Have a discussion about how our church might be different without the revelations contained in Doctrine and Covenants.
Standard Come Follow Me Activities

DO IT ACTIVITY:
Begin by reading D&C 1:37-38. As a family think of things the prophet has asked us to do. Specifically discuss verse 38. If the prophet tells us something it is the same as if the Lord told us. Play the Follow the Prophet Go Fish Game.
CREATE IT ACTIVITY:
Read together D&C 1:31. Follow the directions provided in your materials to make your own compass. Teach your children how a compass works. Relate it our spiritual compass and how we need to always make sure it is pointing to God. Explore with your compass.
