Behold, My Joy is Full

Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids

Week 41 | September 28 - October 11

You have two weeks to complete this Come Follow Me lesson. Take time to prepare your family for conference and review the talks after conference.

Hide a picture of Christ in the room. Have your children look around the room for the perfect example of service and ministering. After they have found the picture read together 3 Nephi 17. Look for ways Christ teaches the people and ministers to them.

Use the Ministering Tic-Tac-Toe to discuss ways we can follow Christ’s example and minister to others. Use the Ministering Tic-Tac-Toe throughout the week to help you focus on serving others. Have a small prize or treat for each person when they complete a tic-tac-toe.

Sing the song “When We’re Helping” as a wiggle break and to lead into the next part of the lesson.

Discuss times each person has felt happy when they served others. Use the Feeling Stick Puppets to explain that when we are happy it comes from the spirit. Point out that if we are feeling one of the feelings not from the spirit we can serve others to help us feel happy.

“Worth … the Riches of the Whole Earth”

We often keep things of value in special places: important documents kept in a secured file or safe, dinner china in a display cabinet, or treats too good to share with kids up on the top shelf. These things are kept safe and out of easy reach for good reasons, but there are other things of value we need to make sure are always available to us. Our scriptures are one of these things.

“The Lord Requireth the Heart and a Willing Mind”

We all make mistakes as parents. Sometimes our attention is wrongly distracted from a child’s needs, or perhaps we raised our voice in anger when we should have been calm. Do we seek forgiveness from both the Lord and our children when we do these things? Do we sincerely forgive our children when they err? As the Savior Jesus Christ plainly explains in Doctrine and Covenants 64, forgiveness is a crucial component of achieving peace in the home.
