July 6 – July 12 Come Follow Me Lesson for Kids, “The Virtue of the Word of God”

Top start this week’s Come Follow Me lesson, read Alma chapter 31 as a family. You may also consider watching the Book of Mormon video about the Rameumptom. Use the Prayer Comparison Poster to write down the differences between how Alma prayed and how the Zoramites prayed.

Let the children use the Character Stick Puppets to retell the story in their own words.

Next, use the Rameumptom Tower Puzzle. Each piece has a song and a question. Hang the tower on the wall and let each child take a turn removing a piece. Sing the song, discuss the principles taught in the song, and answer the question.

When we follow the prophet we will be kept safe from dangers and come closer to Heavenly Father. Use the “Follow The Prophet Activity.” Place the arrows around your home and play follow the leader as the leader follows the arrows.
